CLEAN HEAT
Decarbonising heat in buildings across the UK
We’re financing the town and city-scale heat networks needed to achieve the UK’s net zero targets.
“The heat network sector has the potential to crowd in £100 billion between now and 2050, while delivering on the UK’s economic growth ambitions. Our market-making experience alongside government makes us uniquely positioned to deliver compelling investment opportunities in the sector.”
Ken Hunnisett
Head of Clean Heat
Establishing the UK as a leader in clean heat
We combine our clean heat experience with a unique understanding of the sector to make heating sustainable, affordable and reliable. We’re more than a funding provider. We’re connecting the dots by working in close partnership with private stakeholders, developers and government to deliver a self-sustaining and transformed heat energy market.
Invested in clean heating and cooling infrastructure
Heat networks are one of the most reliable and cost-effective ways to decarbonise buildings. Supportive regulatory and policy changes are creating more opportunities for the clean heat sector to deliver good investment outcomes for investors than ever before.

We’ve been the UK Government’s trusted partner since 2018
Since 2018, we’ve been working in partnership with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to advance low-carbon heat networks across England — a collaboration set to span 12 years.
