4. Legal grounds for processing your personal data
‘Personal data’ is defined under the UK GDPR as any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person. We process your personal data in order to manage your interest in a role or contract with us. We process your personal data only where lawful to do so. The UK GDPR requires us to have a lawful reason to process your personal data, referred to as a ‘lawful basis’ and they include:
(a) Contractual necessity: processing your personal data to take steps before entering into a contract with you
(b) Legal obligation: to check your eligibility to work in the UK and comply with other regulatory requirements
(c) Legitimate interests: to assess your skills, qualifications, and suitability for roles at Triple Point, and to maintain efficient recruitment processes
(d) Consent: where you provide special category data (e.g. diversity monitoring information) or agree to us retaining your data for longer periods. You can withdraw your consent at any time
(e) Recognised legitimate interests: this may allow us to process your personal data in certain pre-defined circumstances set out in the Data Protection Legislation (for example, we are able to process your personal data where the processing is necessary for the purposes of safeguarding a vulnerable individual)
We will not share or use your data for marketing purposes without your consent.
5. What personal data do we process?
We collect personal data that you provide to us, e.g. as part of the recruitment process or to progress your interest in a position with us. This data is available to, and may be processed by, the Triple Point People team. Some of this information will also be made available to our hiring

Where a particular check is required by law, regulation, a client requirement or our internal risk management, we will explain what information is needed and why. If we cannot complete that check, we may decide not to proceed with your application.
