We understand the importance of energy-efficient solutions and sustainable infrastructure to help reduce carbon emissions and achieve a better future for all. Investing in these solutions cuts down on waste, reduces energy bills, and improves connectivity and innovation.
Because of our involvement, 11 hydroelectric schemes are operating in Scotland - schemes that weren’t conceived of before we stepped in. We’ve also funded the development of state-of-the-art Vertical Farms that use 99% less water than traditional farming and ensure year-round production.
In 2018 we were chosen by the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy to manage their £320m investment programme to promote energy-efficient heat networks – changing the way we heat our homes and businesses and helping reach the target of net zero by 2050.
