Triple Point supports wildlife conservation through sponsorship of Explorers against Extinction

As 2019 headline sponsors, it was with great pleasure that Triple Point attended the Explorers against Extinction launch event, on Wednesday 01 May, held at the historical ‘Nave’ at 78 Bishopsgate, London.

Explorers against Extinction is a wildlife conservation campaign organised by registered UK charity the Real World Conservation Trust. The campaign’s main aim is to raise awareness about the threats facing the world’s most iconic species and their habitats while at the same time raising funds for nominated projects pivotal in the battle to protect them.

The evening provided an opportunity to introduce some of the exciting conservation projects being supported  via the campaign this year, as well as a chance to preview some of the initiatives already underway.

Kicking off the evening, guests were shown some of the artwork forming  part of Explorers against Extinction’s ‘Sketch for Survival’ touring exhibition . Highlighting the fact that an elephant in the wild is poached every 26 minutes, the annual fund-raising initiative  brings together a collection of 26-minute sketches and studio artwork from leading professional artists, explorer and celebrity supporters, including Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ranulph Fiennes. The tour celebrates wildlife   while raising awareness about the plight faced by many iconic species. . The Sketch for Survival 2019 collection will tour the UK between September and November 2019, visiting five different venues and finishing at the Royal Geographical Society in London. Artwork  will be sold by online auction on Sunday 17th November 2019, with proceeds going towards the campaign.

A presentation by photographer and conservationist Nick Dyer followed. Dyer, a former fund manager who left behind his life in the fast lane, moved to Africa to dedicate his time to the conservation of the African Wild Dog. Dyer has spent the past six years following and photographing these animals. His work has culminated in a comprehensive photo journal, with all proceeds going to  Painted Dog Conservation , a partner of Explorers against Extinction. Nick’s presentation highlighted the importance of Explorers against Extinction’s  conservation work  in Zimbabwe.

As an alternative investment manager with a particular focus on creating a wealth of opportunities for current and future generations, Triple Point is proud to sponsor Explorers against Extinction, and to partner with an organisation doing incredible work to protect lives and communities in the wild.
